Caledonia was founded as a single-family office in Sydney, Australia in 1992 with a clear goal: to generate exceptional outcomes through deep research, disciplined investing, and long-term alignment. From day one, we’ve operated with independence and focus.

For our first 20 years, we invested long-only. In 2012, we introduced our flagship long/short equity strategy, extending our research and valuation discipline to both sides of the market.

Over the past three decades, we’ve compounded capital through cycles and change — staying true to our philosophy and sharpening our process. Today, we manage a focused set of global equity strategies, built on conviction, valuation discipline, and meaningful ownership.

With offices in Sydney and New York, we remain privately held and partner-led. Our structure allows us to act with agility, maintain clarity, and invest alongside our clients with purpose and patience.

Australian Roots

Our foundation in Australia has shaped our worldview and investment culture. Australia holds the fifth largest pool of pension assets globally, underpinned by a robust economy and pioneering industries. From the 2006 merger and demutualization of the ASX and Futures Exchange, to the rise of online real estate platforms in the 1990s, Australia has consistently demonstrated an entrepreneurial edge.
